Ok so when I pulled off the harness to the starter relay solenoid it looks a bit corroded on the harness end. I tried to stick a small screw driver to scrape off some of the corrosion and plugged it back in. When I turn on the bike and hit start there is a sparking sound coming from the solenoid. How do I clean the harness?

that "sparking" sound happens when there is not enough voltage/amperage to hold the solenoid closed to turn the starter..if it is doing that through the normal starting procedure..(key on, run, and start) try hooking jumper cables up to it..let it charge for 5 or so minutes, and try to start it

to "clean" the harness? i would say by any means..the copper contacts corrode, so you want to remove the corrosion as much as possible for a clean, unobstructed connection..if it were an easily accessible flat contact, i would suggest a pencil eraser, but being a plug type harness, pretty much any means necessary..
