Angry 98 f3 won't turn ovee

My 98 f3 won't turn over. I thought it was the rectifier so I replace it and the harness. When you turn the key on and hit start the lights dim but but nothing happens. Not a sound, nothing. And ideas?

Clean your connectors under seat. Start with the main one with the 30 amp fuse by battery box. If there's just a little corrosion it will do this. Happened to me and that was it. Also mine has been acting funny as of late. I have to hold the start button down for a moment before the starter starts to turn. Try that too

I ordered a used starter relay solenoid. It will be here tomorrow. That's where I also thought to start.

I second that 74demon, when I got my F3 the battery was dead and it wasn't enough to turn the bike over, but the lights worked etc..

you cant just go throwing parts at it..if your going to buy anything, make it a multimeter so you can find what is actually wrong..you could have an open wire, just like i did, with your exact scenario..

I tested the battery and it's good. Also the kickstand switch is Ok.

Check all safety switches like kickstand, engine run switch, clutch. Use a light tester. Sure to find break in circuit.
