98 f3 possible fuel pump issue?
Ok so i just bought a 98 f3 with 7k on the clock. Previous owner said he cleaned the fuel pump and all the carbs and jets. Bike starts and runs excellent most of the time. From time to time when the bike has been run hard it will hesitate a bit at lower rpm's and when the tank is low (not empty) it will want to die on me and until i switch to reserve it won't let me start it. Thank god i've been close to gas stations both times this happened.
So based on this information i've given do you guys feel that perhaps he did "clean" the pump but maybe the connections are shot? Just seems odd considering the mileage on this bike is so low.
Also, is it possible if the pump is shot that it will naturally work with gravity and only kick on when the bike get to a certain level of gas similar to certain cars that only kick on once you get to 1/4 tank of gas left? <<RUN ON SENTENCE!

check the pump. There is a thread to fix the fuel pump here too. Here's the link https://cbrforum.com/forum/stickies-91/how-repair-your-f3-fuel-pump-102151/
seems ok, but a new contact costs $10-15 and about 10 minutes of your time, so it'd be a good idea to go ahead and replace it
But i would go ahead and check out the carbs, make sure the floats/needles are free and arent getting stuck.

The shots are kinda fuzzy, but it looks like they are burning on one side. Uneven points and carbon build up can make the points wonky. Especially when hot. If you can run a points file in there you can clean them up. New ones are nice too.
