98 f3 needle clip question

Default 98 f3 needle clip question

can u change it with out pulling the carbs all the way off

well i kept the throttle cables on (plugged the holes) and flipped the carbs upside down to work on them, and was able to get to them that way.

If you're referring to the clip on the Main Jet Needle that's attached to the bottom of the vacuum slide, then yes you can remove the slide and adjust the clip (aftermarket needles have the clip) without removing the carburetors from the engine.

ok i was told its jetted. but if its not i was told u can use a washer how does that work. it seems a little to rich threw the mid range.

If it's too rich you want to drop the needle, not raise it. Jetting also involves the sizes of the jets.

I can confirm the needle position change with the carbs on the bike is do-able.

It would be easier if my choke rail wasn't tweaked in such a way as to block one of the screws though. I managed by taking off the end w/o the spring. My attempts at bending it only resulted in it being sticky.
