97 cbr fv alternator fault
HI
I need help,
ive been having problems with my cbr, its seem that the alternator is not charging my battery. I was advised to change the alternator or change the regulator/rectifier. I have done so. I have changed both. I have checked the alternator with a tester and its showing me that the alternator is still not charging or charging too slow. I have charged my battery yesterday and now am with the battery at home charging it again. I have changed the spark plugs aswell incase that could solve my problem.
any ideas on what the problem might be am getting desperate.
thnx

Check your voltage between the battery line and the ground of the r/r. Section 15 of the manual covers trouble shooting. They say to disconnect the r/r and test continuity for the yellow to ground. There shouldn't be continuity. If so, you have a short in the wiring harness. The same test should be run at the alternator wiring plug as well. Same issue. Bad grounds could also be at fault here. Look for burned connectors or wires, bare spots, etc.
Good luck.
Good luck.
