96 F3 Wont Start
#22
...just an update. I've installed the new head gasket and torqued everything down to specs. Still won't start. F*CK!!!. In fact, now, I'm reading zero cylinder pressure. WTF is going on? I hate to say it, but I think the CBR wins this battle. I'll be posting her for sale AS IS in craigslist. Makes me sad....

Have you checked the valve clearance. (also look down the intake at the top of the valves and see if there is crud keeping them from closing.) My bike would only start by rolling it off. It would not start at all with the battery (fully charged ) or even a jumping it of a car. 7 of my intake valves, the bucket was touching the cam (no clearance)
Once I shimmed them and finally got gas to the carbs (they were dry, Just cleaned em.) it started right up.( that is untill I saw gas leaking everywhere. So back into the carbs again, its leaking at the two plastic tees that feed fuel to the carbs. Now i have to seperate them. Every rubber piece in my carbs is ready to crumble.( i wonder if the PO sprayed them full of carb cleaner) Good luck i feel kind of the same about selling mine but after all ive done to it I have really solved most of the problems that seem to arise with these bikes (manual cct, gsxr R/R, new fuel pump switch ect..) so by now I should have a really good bike if I can just get these carbs back into shape.

B-a, Start a new thread in your model-specific forum. You'll get a more tailored response.
List the specific year/model of your bay (i.e. 98CBR600F3). Then describe your issue,
what it's doing/not doing, what you've already done about it, what the result of that
was, etc.
That will give us some tools to work with, so we can help you work it out.
