Default 95 CBR 600 Front Brake Problem

I was wondering if anyone could help me with this annoying problem. Everytime I slowly squeeze the front brake it seems like it has to be pulled to a certain point before it catches. No matter what I do I have not been able to GENTLY apply the brake. Right now I'm to afraid to even use it because it almost locks up the front tire when used..........any reason for this?

May be time for some new pads & a change of brake fluid.

f3luv is right. that SHOULD fix your issue. make sure you test it while going slow though.

Thanks fellas. I spent the day today fixing little odds and ends on my bike and took the whole brake lever and assembly off. I sprayed WD40 all over it and cleaned the whole thing as well as the bolts and nuts. This seemed to fix the problem. Now my front brake works flawlessly!
