Default 2nd gear slipping in and out?

Okay I just bought a 98 f3 a few days ago and the bike runs great except for one issue. As soon as I shift into second gear it seems like it takes gear until I give it some gas. When I give it gas it starts bucking and popping in and out of gear. Anyone had a similar prob? Just no fun if I can't hit second gear like I want!! Any help will be appreciated more than you know. Gotta get this thing running right before summers over

Could be a multitude of things. Does F3 use linkage? (could be out of adjustment). Shift forks could be bent or worn down. Shift drum could have a burr in it right where it holds shift fork in place for 2nd gear. Dogs on male gear could be rounded off/worn. If it does have linkage and it's adjusted correctly (2nd gear throws them off cause of the extra long throw from 1st to 2nd), it's probably going to be something in transmission. Shift forks can be visually checked for straightness without removing engine, but can't measure thickness of their "foot" without removing them. "Might" be able to get view of drum without removing engine.

You bought an internal transmission problem.
I hope the seller told you about it before they sold it to you.
If not, they are straight trashy rat b@stards...
