Default 1996 F3 is leaking fuel

From I THINK the fuel pump.

I cleaned the pump dry, let the bike run, and 1 minute later there was a drop forming under the pump. I think its leaking from the seam.

Can someone recommend me a replacement? Does it HAVE to be a F3 replacement, or will a fuel pump from any bike work?

Thanks for any tips.

Ron Ayers or Service Honda have good prices on OEM. Can't say about aftermarket fuel pumps. Keep in mind that this fuel pump is a low pressure pump, not a high pressure one like you would find on a fuel injected bike. One of those pumps would flood your carburetors because the float valve wouldn't be able to stop the flow of fuel.

Good luck...

I needed to replace mine a couple years back - couldn't be much easier. It was a large leak though. After a couple min there was a large puddle of fuel under the bike. The pump was $65cnd if I recall. The clamps are pretty weak though, I'd replace them with screw style ones

Hey..where in Canada did you get it?

Also...what clamps are you referring to? I don't see any clamps on the pump. Its just crimped together. I'm not sure what term to use to describe it.

Thanks!

I got mine at GW Cycle in Calgary, a local Honda dealer. If I recall right, they use spring style clamps, kinda look like crimped, but you can use a pair of needle nose pliers to remove them.

Thanks dudes.
I ended up getting one from the dealer for $150 + tax (CDN).

I hope this one lasts a little more than 25k.
