OK the bike has been sitting for quite some time.... i changed the oil, plugs, drained the old gas.... nothing. Air box is clean,. all is well the only way i can get it to take is to put a splash of gas in each carb from the top then it dies almost immediately after.. ANY help?

 

did you check the idle cable?

 

what year bike? if an F2, it needs the vacume line from #1 to the petcock fitting to allow fuel to flow. Petcock itself could need removing from the tank and cleaning. sounds like no fuel is getting into the carb float chambers.

 

Well thanks for the assistance but i just got got going!!!!

 

Nice! What was wrong? I'm guessing the carb float bowls were just empty.
