Mattson/Terrible_1.........you guys might be right (I am still newbie in terms of mechanics).

I just started the bike and started fine?! So......should I change the starter motor/relay or wait?

Well, if it works every time you could wait and see, or if you have the motivation and some spare time you could take the starter out and apart for maintenance cleaning. Might just be the carbon brushes are worn or so dirty they`re not making proper contact, cleanup and lube might just do the trick, at least you could inspect the brushes, the collector that the brushes touch and the coils for wear, burns or other possible signs of failing.

As I said earlier it`s a fairly simple device, it`s the getting TO it that makes it a job...

Over the past two days or so (since I have got it started) it now starts first time without any problem. I pull the choke and press the start button....it starts.

I think I might change my starter relay after new year just in case.

Murphy's Law states if you simply purchase a spare relay, then the one on your bike will never fail.
