Where does this hose go?????
There is a hose on the left side under the #4 carb. It isn't going anywhere. Can someone please tell me where it goes. My Clymer's manual inst here yet and the service manual isn't a lot of help. I got this bike a week ago and it was fine. I was looking at it and I notice that there wasn't a single clamp on it and about 4-5 unconnected hoses, one of the air intake lines was going to the fuel tank. Also If its possible where should I conenct the fuel tank vacuum hose. You can tell that I am new at this, but I would appreciate the help.
I have discovered that the hose is the fuel vacuum hose. However, my bike is basically a 96 F3 on a 94 F2 frame. My bike has a fuel pump that from my understanding most or all F2's don't have. The tank is apparently from an F3 and the petcock has no place to connect this vacuum hose since having a fuel pump, it obviously doen't need. It idles differently if you have the hose blocked or it its just loose.
Tomorrow, I will cap off the fuel vacuum tube. Just so that I am correct the line from the fuel pump goes to the carburator and there are 2 lines that connect the carburator's to the air flow system. There are no other hoses from the carbs. Is this correct? To be sure should I have any other hoses or should anything else be capped off. Thanks in advance for all your help.
You sould be good with that. The only hoses you want blocked are you vac. lines no longer used. the f2 & f3 were close in their hose set up so as long as the rest look hooked up corectly they probably are.
