This is a REALLY dumb question, but here goes: On my bike on the left hand side (if sitting on the bike), at the passenger footpeg bracket there is this little keyhole. The ignition key turns in it, and it operates this little locking bar. What is this for??? Thanks!!

 

It is your helmet lock.

 

That's what I thought it might be, but how do you use it? Another dumb question? What part of the helmet do you lock in there?

 

The D rings on yer chin strap

 

mine doesnt even have that, for some reason the former owner decided to cut it off

 

My ? would be.....who in their right mind would put a $700 helment in a lock that locks on D rings. I will carry mine thank you!
