I'm a 'Ride' man as well Mark

Good reviews on bikes and gear, and not just a fantasy read. They realise we haven't all got oodles of cash.

I dropped two. One turned into the Ducati magazine when the new editor in charge came aboard. The other one says that a bike wins in bike vs bike article because it goes .001 sec. faster in the 1/4 mi.

When a mag votes the K1600GTL the best touring bike over the GL1800 because the K1600GTL is better in the canyon roads, they have lost it. The Gl1800 is a utility vehicle not a rocket ship.

Well thanks a bunch for stirring me up. I was going to read some stuff in the forum but you got me all stirred up my friend. Going to turn the computer off and drink heavy now.

Speaking about drinking.......we did a 300+ mile ride over to VT and I forgot to pick up some Screach. damn..daMN...DAMN...DAMN......

OK, drinking time has arrived....................

My fave magazine from overseas is an English one called "Classic Bike". It is fiercely expensive in NZ (about $15) but it isn't as flat cap and mustache as it sounds. "Classic" now includes GP bikes from the 70's and 80's, RD350 Yams, and H1 Kwaka's, all the stuff I grew up with.

The wifey just picked up a RIDER, magazine that is, for me. Haven't had a look at that one for awhile. Touring slant is good, bike reviews maybe a little less technical and shallow vs other mags.
Good question here Mark. The euro mags are much better than the stateside for sport and rider experience.

I read Australian Motorcycle News regularly as they have a good platform of motorcycle-relevant events, racing, upcoming/new models as well as ride reviews and a 'used buy' segment. Gets a big thumbs up from me!

I also have no time for mags that are strictly performance oriented or otherwise narrow minded - it simply frustrates me as we don't all want an uncompromising track bike to take racing on a weekend.

I used to read 'road rider ' but found it a bit vanilla. Classic bike is a mag I'll pick up if there's a model or two I'm interested in. Otherwise I'll leave be. Rapid I've only read once but particularly liked its emphasis on the engineering and technology behind the performance.

Cheers - boingk

You probably all know about this freeby
Motorcycle News UK | Motorbikes | MCN
BTW Kiwi - if you subscribe to the mags direct from England it'll be a LOT cheaper than buying them in NZ. Same here in SA......
I read Bike SA - it has most of what comes out overseas (maybe a month later)cost abt $3.50 US here.
But Ride, and Classic Bike are my favourite UK mags. I get them from wholesaler booksellers when they are a bit dated because the local price from Central News is plain stupid. I'm cheap I know..................

Talking about new bikes, I know TimBT touched on it but.....................
