if you have a voltage meter then put +to+ and -to- and rev the bike to about 4.5-5 grand. the voltage should be regulated to about 13-14 vdc(dcv). if over replace that baby! the reading your looking at is off the battery(+to+ -to-)

Theres a lot of posts on this topic (one that I actually created) but I tested my charging system not too long agoand the R/R was the faulty unit. I had read in a thread that a R/R for a gsxr stays much cooler and is actually a better replacementfor the one the cbr comes with soI purchased one (on ebay for $30 shipped). had not installed yet but I trust the advice...

i'm not ina position to be dishing advice cuz of my noob-ness but just stating my experience and the advice that was given to me.. with that said, for less than 50 bucks you won't have to worry about your ***** being on fiiiiire

or i read on another site that you could mod out the r/r but that may take a lil more effort by messing with the ground wires, adding a copper plate, etc... heres the link to the link: https://cbrforum.com/m_315101/tm.htm

let us know what u decide to do

yea, just be sure to get one with 5 connectors.... i think the colors are different though(i.e. the white on a cbr is actually black on the gixxer)

i pulled this from another thread...

Honda Suzuki
3 white( alternator) 3 black
1 Red ( positive) 1 black/red
1 green( negative) 1 black/white

the white/black wires are interchangeable
