vacuum lines around carburetors???
im guessin this is gonna be a pretty obvious answer but im new to this so be easy on me....i had a fuel petcock issue and i cleaned it out and reinstalled it .it turned out pretty good actually..the bike runs very snmooth with little or no hesitation and/or noise.the guy who i bought it from had the tank off when i bought it ...there were 2 vacuum lookin lines come out on either side of the main fuel line..there are also two open ports on the underside of the tank..im wondering if these lines in fact go to these ports or if they have different purposes. the only reason i ask is cause they dont reach the ports and the lines dont appear to have been cut short...any advice on this matter would be great
The ports on the under side of the tank are overflow and breather tubes, there should only be one vacuum line on the right side of the petcock beside the main fuel line which plugs into a nipple coming off the back of the #1 cylinder on the engine.

that does help cause the hoses werent long enough and i didnt want to assume thats where they went and wind up messin somethin up....like puttin a vacuum line to the breather port and suckin gas into the vaccuum system on the motor...now ill just leave well enough alone and know that the lines by the carbs are prolly breather and vent lines too...thanx man.....i had to ask first cause the bike runs awesome and i didnt wanna lose that by makin incorrect choices...
Heres a pic of mine, I have it in my house torn down for a new paint job. Mine has 4 lines the big one is the main fuel line, the smallest one is the vacuum line for the petcock, and the last too that are crossed in the foreground are vent lines for the carbs.

okay.. so i took my vacuum hoses off without remembering how to put them back on.. also took off all the little fittings and AC can..
there are two hoses atop my carbs, i dont know where they go.
there are four hoses atop my carbs that meet at one point, i then dont know where they go.
any pictures would help alot

i think two stay loose and the other two meet and become the main fuel line.

So what line goes on the nipple on the fuel pump? And where does it hook to? I'm so confused
