Transmission starting to get squirrley...
Hey everyone,
So I've noticed since I got my bike the transmission's started to get more and more squirrley. It had some funky issues at first, but now it's getting to be a bit more prominent.
I'm starting to be able to find the "nuetrul" area inbetween gears far more frequently. It happens when I am not very firm and distinct on shifts, so it's a general around town circumstance mostly. I just clutch in again, firmly get in the right gear, and compensate.
Today though it made itself quite aware to me. Going from 2nd to third midst a very light turn, I thought I shifted right but went into that nuetrul area. It missed, then suddenly caught as the engine decelerated. The engine speed difference locked the rear wheel up for half a milisecond, putting me into a very short skid and a wobble. I recovered absolutely fine, and this is the first time such a thing has gone down, but now I'm starting to get concerned...
Sooooo... advice? Maybe it's more my shifting than the bike, or maybe it's something that can be adjusted with the transmission or replaced internally. Let me know what you know!

how many kms has your bike done?
my bike does this also, however my baby has well over 100k on it!
The issue is probably the gear selector getting a bit worn (the thing that swaps the cogs in your gearbox).
I have been told you can help the issue a few ways, for one adjust the gear lever position, you should easily be able to move it in either direction without lifting your foot off the peg. In my experience, most poeople have the gear lever set too high, and this can cause the issue as yuoiu get a little lazier on shofting. you may find it occurs later on a ride as you tire a little and dont shift as firmly.
second thing you can do is an oil change and put something a fraction heavier in there.
if the problem persists, or becomes worse, you may be looking at a gearbox rebuild, which is going to cost $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$
