Default Tires to Learn On?

What are some recommendations for a good tire to learn on? I've read good things about Pirelli Diablos and Shinkos. Thoughts?

A lot of guys will say....

Metzeler M3's
Dunlop Qualifiers
Michelin Pilot powers

Pirelli's are good, but expensive

I have heard both ways about shinko, personally I steered away just because of their price.

Good tires keep the shiny side up....

A good set of tires are going to be around 250-260 shipped online.

Started on Michelin Pilot Sport. they where on the bike when i bought it.
Replaced with Metzeler M1's. They lasted 12.000 km and is replaced by
Michelin Pilot Sport. I personally like these better when going into a "speedy" curve. They give me a feeling of more control.
