I was bored tonight and decided to give the carbs a good cleanin... Was kind of a pain in the butt at first until things started smoothing out (although I hope I never have to put the throttle cables back on the wheel again). I cleaned up the airbox and am going to replace the filter tomorrow. When I opened the box containing the sub air cleaner filter it crumbled in my hand. I had no idea one was even in there. What does it do?

I guess I will be replacing it tomorrow as well.

 

sub air cleaner filter? im not following.. i know of 1 air filter and it shouldnt crumble.... got any pics?

 

Thats what I thought until I found this little jewel when I was cleaning the airbox. Its number 8 in the diagram.

hmm interesting,, I never noticed that before.. I learned another thing today thanks...

 

wonder if that has something to do with emissions. I didnt know about that either. Maybe its like a charcoal canister for a bike?
