Default Air Cleaner

It's always something
My air filter was filthy, lots of oil and grime. I was going to just replace it, but I can't seem to find an OEM replacement anywhere. All I see is aftermarket stuff like K&N, and I really don't want to have to re-jet. As a temporary measure I've washed the old filter, I'll let it dry completely and then oil it lightly. I have a feeling that's not gonna work so well though, so while I'm waiting for it to dry: Where do you lot get your air filters?

EDIT> I found a company making these: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Uni-HP-Air-F...-/110709693383. They claim to be "flow matched" such that I wouldn't have to worry about re-jet. I don't know though, it looks kinda like sh**. Any thoughts?

I bought my last one directly from my local dealer. It was less than $40 so I pulled the trigger. There are some things that I would just rather buy oem. Try ronayers.com they have fairly decent prices and a fiche for sourcing parts.

I'm running a K&N and a completely stock system. I haven't noticed a need to re-jet.
My temps are good and I haven't noticed any signs indicating that I'm running lean.

Fair enough Ern. I'm only concerned because the previous owner already put a different can on it, so I figure I'm at my fudge-it limit for intake/exhaust before rejet. You think I might be okay anyway? Also, I'll have to call the dealership. $40 isn't bad at all, I typically avoid stealerships at all costs, but that's fairly reasonable.

Yeah, if you're running with an after-market exhaust, you might re-consider the K&N. I qualified
my comment with the "completely stock" comment, for the very reason you're citing.

Although you might give IDoDirt a PM and solicit his opinion. He is the top of the food
chain, as far as the F3 is concerned, in my book.

orangeF3's comments certainly have merit, as well.

Good luck, Ern
