Default stupid problems

at first i would stall out when i shifted into first even when moving, slowly. or even when with clutch was held in so i turned up the rmps and have it running at around 12-1400 rmp. but when the choke is on from cold it jumps up to 3-4k and down to about 11-12k, and up and down. its about 40 to 55 degrees where im now so idk if weather does anything but during the summer it was fine.

Another thing is when im riding in first gear around 5k, the rmps keep goin up but speed maintains, like it doesnt have much power. 3-6 have good power and speed. i think i have a small leak in the headers, would that have any issues? or maybe bad air flow?

When you choke the bike it is normal for the RPM's to jump up some. Mine start around 1500 and go up to 3500-4000rpm. I do full choke for about 15 seconds then 3/4 for about 20 then half for another 15-20, the no choke and I let it idle a minute or two.

The rmps warmed up should be about 1200-1400 RPM. I keep mine set at 1250ish.

Fix the exhaust leak, but it sounds like the carbs are dirty and the slower jets are dirty. Try running 1/3 to 1/2 a can of seafoam in the gas tank. May just help.

if push comes to shove and the Sea Foam can't do the dirty work for you, you may be left responsible, but there's a fantastic tutorial on carb goings-over in the stickies in this subforum.
