Default Stripped spark plug hole

I have had a spare f2 motor sitting in my garage for quite some time with one stripped out spark plug hole thread.

Has anyone had this problem before?

I was recommended Helicoil but I'm not sure yet.

Any input appreciated.

Yup, I would say helicoil is the "right" way to perform the repair. You'll need to take the valve cover off, and most likely take the head off.

Then buy the helicoil kit and drill and tap to specifications. I would recommend removing the head so that your aluminum chips don't get in the cylinders. But, I have heard of using lithium grease on the drill and tap to keep the chips in check. But you're best off removing the head and then rebuilding with a new gasket.

yep. +1 for taking the head off. You might be able to get away with it... but seriously. Take the head off.
