STILL leaking gas!!
Well the petcock was leaking,so I ordered a new coverset, replaced it and put back together. It's still leaking fuel, except it appears to be leaking where the petcock is "pinned" together. Short of buying another petcock,is there any way to fix this??
yep i went ahead and drilled the rivets out but be careful there isn alot of material there. Next take the petcock apart but be careful theres a spring inside that will shoot the bearing out, the spring is probably in bad shape replace it harbor freight has a packaged assortment of springs for 3 bucks. tap out the holes you drilled and put in machine screws that are small enough. also if i remember correctly i made a gasket for it from gasket material u can get at any autoparts store and i used indian head gasket to seal it. works great. the new spring wont allow gas to sneak by.
