Default leaking oil

my 02 f4i that has been just sitting for 3 days has been leaking oil everyday. I havnt driven it for days yet it leaks a good amount of oil daily, the only thing i can think of is when i was bringing it in my house, i had to put a piece of ply wood over the stairs and the lower part of the fairings caught the top steps. All it did was scuff up the fairings now it leaks oil. The foam on the lower left fairng is really wet yet the oil is in front of the bike, i dont have any tools to get the plastics off yet and would like to know if any1 knew anything off the top of their heads.

oh man, its a tough thing to diagnose with out taking the plastics off.
it could be something simple like the oil filter not screwed on tight.
get the tools needed to get the fairing off and im sure that you'll find the problem in no time.
good luck.

All you need is a 5mm allen key. with the f4i, you can pretty much replace your engine with a 5mm allen key. get one asap!

anyway if it's coming from the left front, it could be a number of things. once you get the fairings off, take a picture of where it's coming from and we'll tell ya what's up.

Your first goal has to be identifying the source(s) of the leak(s). Remove the fairings and do a complete de-grease and clean of the engine. Once it's all clean and dry, you can watch over time as your leaks present themselves.

When I bought my 02 F4i several weeks ago, it was covered in oil. Especially that vibration-dampening foam on the insides of the side fairings. After exhaustive degreasing / cleaning, I was able to get to the point where any new oil leaks will be immediately apparent. So far, so good, nothing to speak of.

best of luck to you

your stator cover seems as its been reworked, am i wrong?
anyway, dont sweat it. it looks like you might have a crack in stator cover and its very simple to fix.
i think they sell for 60-80, not 100%

i dont see any cracks but the bolts are covered in oil. Could it just be a gasket or should I just replace it to be safe.

you need a new stator gasket. start with the inexpensive stuff and work your way up. a crack is possible but i wouldn't go *****-out just yet...
