Default Starting help..

So i just removed and cleaned the carbs, new plugs, replaced gas tank gas filter, air filter oil the works. put it all together it cranked like twice and wouldn't stay on by itself. and after those two times of starting it hasn't started since.

any ideas?

You didn't plug the fuel line back in that goes from the petcock to the side of carb numbe one that allows vacuum to operate teh petcock

On another note.. When the bike sits overnight and i try and start the next day it will crank then shut right off.

If it's a fueling issue, perhaps its setup to rich, and it's flooding right off the bat - are you certain that your choke circuit is setup correctly, so that when you slide the lever forward, it disengages the choke? Do you smell a lot of fuel when you try to start it?

so its the carbs the jets are real dirty, gonna have to do a jet install thinking of going stage 1

How did you "clean" the carbs? Did you alter any of the adjustment screws? Like the butterfly adjusters or idle jet screws. Check the choke cable to see that it is properly engaging the choke bar too.

so I found a spare carb in a junkyard that was clean, so now it will start and i will have to play with the choke and the idle to keep it on. so it will stay on by itself at like 3-4k rpms which is high. if it get below 3k it wants to shut off. and the throttle response is a little off.
