Default Shift lever came off.

Anyone had their shift lever fall off while riding?

I had pulled over, and went to put it in neutral and could not feel the lever. looked down and it was dangling. Was able to finger tighten the bolt back on and get home.

Is this a normal thing?

Loctite is your friend! It has only happened to me once. Let the loctite dry for 24hours, this isn't a suggestion! Never loosen on it's own again.

I've never had it happen to mine, but I hear of that happening a lot and to all makes and models of bikes. Cujo and mpyre are right in that Loctite is the simplest and best solution.

me too. out with my friend went to downshift for a stopsign, wasnt there no more. talk about an odd feeling, not having parts you know damn well should be there. i didnt find quite as much humor in it as my buddy did. i can laugh now though.

loctite is your friend. just be sure to get the right grade. some will not allowfor removal again if needed. check the label
