2nd gear is better than first. You'll have better results.


The concept goes that the engine is driving the rear wheel, and when you bump start it you're using the force from the rear wheel to drive the engine forward... much like an electric starter drives the engine forward.

 

Lol I had to do this when my clutch cable broke a half hour from home. I ran like 5 stop signs.
