More Bang for your Buck!
Hey guys, im new to the CBRF and I was wondering if you guys could help me pick out an exhaust that sounds good but isn't overly priced! Im heading to Atlanta, Georgia tomorow to pick up a 1992 Honda CBR 600 F2 with 40,000 miles on it. It has a stock exhaust and I was wanting to find a good one on a budget!
Any suggestions would be so helpful!!!!

I've been pulled over 2x now for my Vance & Hines SS2. Both times the cop was really just looking for drunks leaving the bars, but Louisiana has a really vague muffler law that states "no vehicle may be modified to where the exhaust makes more noise than stock." No acoustical criteria provided otherwise. I'm willing to bet that cop has no clue how loud a 1992 F2 was stock, so they just use it as a primary violation reason to pull you over to find out anything else.

As was already said, an exhaust without other mods is nothing more than sound...that said, I have a custom-fabbed Yoshimura unit on my F2; which I love. I am looking for something new, though; and have found that both DanMoto and Delkevic make attractive, inexpensive slip-on systems for F2s. Either one be had for under $200, and assembly is pretty much goof-proof if you have any mechanical aptitude whatsoever. My personal choice is the GP-style DanMoto unit--it has just the right amount of MotoGP flavor ! Whatever you choose, remember that unless you intend to put some real time and effort into carb work, don't expect an exhaust to do anything for you except make you louder...
Then again, for some, louder is all they want !

You have to be patience and shop around. There are plenty of exhaust out there especially on eBay. Just keep searching for newly listed, know you limit and bid. I've purchased a brand new V&H for $50 freeshipping on eBay but exhaust missing a hanger, then I modify a Yoshimura hanger to make it fit. Take you bike home, learn about it, luv it. Get to know it. Last thing you want to do is go too fast into upgrading & make purchase before careful consideration. There may be other options you want to take...good luck and most important! Have fun & ride safe. I understand the feel of a newly purchase bike, seems like you want to do everything at the same time. Trust me, take it slow and you'll save more money. For example, the first week I purchase my bike I change the oil to Fully Synthetic Amsoil...then 2 month later I found a Factory pro aluminum stator cover chrome for like Cheapest price ever. When I change to stator? Guess what happen? I forgot about the oil...LOL... Then need to replace fresh oil again...

Hey donnygee...you might want to check these out:
Delkevic :: Shop > Exhaust > Silencers & Mufflers
CBR 600 F : Danmoto
I still think the DanMoto GP Extreme is the coolest-looking; and the price is pretty darn good, too !
