Default Rev counter & temp gauge help!

Hi guys, I have fitted a rev counter & temp gauge to my track CBR600FM from a VFR400. The problem I have is when I am revving the bike say around 9000 RPM the rev counter is only reading something like 2000 RPM. Is there a reason why this will not read propper?

Also I can't get the temp gauge to read at all. Any help or suggestions appreciated.

On the original clocks can you take the clocks out of the whole cluster as I do not want a speedo. That way I can make my own dash.
