regulator rectifier test

Default regulator rectifier test

Does anyone know the test to check if my regulator rectfier is working properly? Which wires?

Test the battery with the engine running....should be 12-14V at 3000 rpm, if it is a bad RR, it will read upwards of 15-20V. We have notoriously bad RR's, and if it's not a (cheap) RR, it could be an (expensive) stator. When mine went bad I just went ahead and replaced the RR without even testing...playing the 98% odds. oh...and you would KNOW if it were not working properly...don't even worry about it if you're not having a major electrical issue!

The F3 guys have been putting Suzuki R/R's on their bikes.

Can wee do the same?

Hell ya...I wish I had done it in hind-sight...it's not to complicated. Though I bought an aftermarket RR with fins off ebay...mounted it with CPU thermal compound and have nopt had a problem in over 2 years (of heavy riding).
