Hello fellow f2 owners! I love my 94 F2 but I want more POWER!! What male doesnt...

Any of u guys know some ways to get better power?

Ive heard that a ignition advancer will do quite a bit (http://www.starcycle-usa.com/servlet/Detail?no=6560)

Anywho let me know what you guys have in mind.

Ide rather not buy a full exhaust but this may be in my plans.

I know this may sound crazy...I have done the stage 1 & K&N and that mad a small differenc. But what really made a noticeable difference on my bike was to have my headers ceramic coated. I have a V&H slip-on and did not want to pay so much for a full pipe for a couple horses. The ceramic coating sounds great and really made a noticeable difference...for me.

I have not made any ignition upgrades...I have read that the effects are minimal...course that one for $50 maybe worth a try...the price is right.

The guys in the F3 section say that the ignition advancer makes easy power wheelies through 3rd gear. Ceramic coating of the headers? how would this effect anything.

Here are my suggestions, each will offer varying degrees of success.

1. Lose weight

2. gear down the sprockets -1 up front +2 in back. Really gives the acceleration a boot in the ***.

3. Jet kit will make a much bigger difference than the ignition advancer if installed properly.

4. Along with the jet kit throw a pipe and filter on the bike.

5. New plugs, tune up everything while your at it, sync the carbs and whatnot.

6. check out cbrzone.com which is also a site sponsor on here. They have cams and all kinds of other goodies (including jet kits and ignition advancers)

Thats about all I got for ya

perf. air filter, full exhaust, jet kit, ignition advance, a good tune. -1/+1 or +2 will make a world of difference in acceleration. All the mentions mod will net maybe 8 - 10HP.

for every 7lbs you can shed gains 1HP.

Ceramic coating keeps the pipes hotter, hotter pipes provide better airflow...

Dude, you are way off base with this. It is the other way around, the coating helps keep the pipes cooler. You want cooler air to flow because that is how you will make more power. That is why turbo setups have intercoolers for cars, if not you wont gain much power.

You are not totally correct...it keeps the pipe more insulated and reduces the temperature around the pipe. The exhaust remains hotter. Intercoolers and turbo are irrelevant...that is exhaust not intake. However, since the header pipes are right in front of the radiator I am sure it has some cooling advantages...

From EvoTech Performance:
[blockquote]Why Ceramic Coating? Ceramic Coating of exhaust manifolds, headers, turbo housings, O2 housings and downpipes will dramatically lower your underhood temps. Cooler air means more horsepower and less chance of a heat soaked intercooler. [/blockquote]

Thanks Elmer and every other comment.

How much did it cost to cermaic coat your headers?

Edit: Can I sync the carbs while they are off of the bike?

How much would this cost to get done at my local Honda Shop? (Just the Jetting and Syncing)

Carbs MUST be sync'd on the bike, because the bike needs to be running.

Cost? No clue....Syncing is easy, assuming you have the right tool ($100 from www.motionpro.com).
