Rectifier regulator problems?
Hello all, I have a 94 F2 and I've been having a couple issues. Its been overcharging the battery but only when I'm riding it hard for a long period of time. It starts to smell strongly of what I would describe as a "Rotten egg like" smell. Then The bike will eventually backfire then I'll start losing electrical components, mainly the turn signals will stay a constant rapid blink for a second then won't work at all. and then It will shut off. It will have absolutely no power.
I was told it was the regulator.
Any input about this, or where/what new regulator to purchase.
Thanks, PurpleKnight.

Take a digital volt ohm meter and test out to see how much power is going to the battery at idle. I knew when mine was going since it first over charged the battery and then eventually it wouldn't charge the battery at all.
Sometimes it'll give a low reading too.
Get the voltage at idel. Expect around 13 volts. Run it up to 3.5k rpm or so. Expect around 14 volts, if it's over 15 or under 13, it's something in the charging system, and 99/100 times on the F2 it's the regulator rectifier.
