Default regulator rectifier

Someone told me that there is only two things to cause my bike to hesitate and cut out for a split second when I turn my turn signals on. That is the regulator rectifier, or the generator. I saw on ebay a regulator that claims to increase power by up to 8%. Is this true? I might as well change one then if that duzn't work try the other since just taking the bike in would cost some bucks. Anyone else have the same problem?

Never heard of it, does the same thing happen when you switch on the head light? if not it aint your rec/reg or generator. When mine went south, it was obvious, bike wouldn't run with any light on and puting a voltmeter across the battery terminals showed no power going into the battery.

to be honest I always thot the headlights stayed on, but when I make the brake light come on it does the same thing. When there is a quick power drain the ignition system seems to die for a second then bounces back. Sometimes it even seems to cut out and come back a couple times when i am driving. I wouldnt think it is a short or it would be more severe.

try putting a volt meter across your battery terminals, this will show if you are charging properly 14 volt sor more, or not 12 volts or less

no more HP possibly higher amps, but you shouldn't need any more unless you are running some serious extra power using electrics ( heated grips, lights etc.)

Ok thanx for all the information. I'm gonna borrow a multimeter or buy one and check it out. And use some diagnostic steps i read about to test the charging system.
