Remote Fan Switch

RE: Remote Fan Switch
Yeah there is a search, it's up at the top 4th link from the left. That is a good idea to have a switch because I'm almost certain that my celenoid or mercury switch is messed up. If you find a link let me know dude! ddvs@walla.com

RE: Remote Fan Switch
Just a suggestion, but maybe put a switch inline bypassing the temp sensor. Any $1.99 12v switch should work fine. Just make sure you put the switch before the relay, you want to turn the fan relay on and that will kick in thefan, otherwise you could burn out your switch and possibly melt your wiring.

RE: Remote Fan Switch
All the fan thermoswitch is is a switch to ground. The temp switch (the one that the temp. gauge runs on) is different and can't really be bypassed. Knowing this, find the wire running from the fan to the thermo switch and simply extend the single wireup to a two-pole (two terminals on the back) toggle switch mounted within easy reach. Run the terminal of the switch to a frame ground. You're done. End of story. Some temp-sensors haver two wires going into them. If this is the case, simply run both wires to the two-pole switch, one wire for each terminal, doesn't matter which side is which. You're done. End of story. When you are sitting in traffic for a while, flip it on and when you get moving again, flip it back off again. Or when you are cruising at low speeds, flip it on.

RE: Remote Fan Switch
Why would someone want to intall such a switch? There's a reason why your fan turns on and off so why change it? If you think there's something wrong with your mercury switch or thermal temp. sensor you don't just bypass it, You fix it. Just another rolling bandaid if you do. That's my .02 cents...
