the rebirth of a 92
well i found two clean f2s for sale and im thinking of picking one up to ride for the summer while ill build this one up. that way i can take my time with it and do things right with no set finish date.
both are at dealerships
im not going to post links because i dont want these snatched out from under me lol
92 slightly modded (pipe and plate bracket) 15k miles $3300
93 completely stock, one owner, 20k miles $3500
their priced high i know but thats a dealership for you.. im sure they can be talked down a bit.
im thinkin of going to take a look at the 93 considering its history. I personally dont like buying modded vehicles because theyve most likely been beaten on.
suggestions?

You just might be better off getting a slightly newer bike. Check your local ads to see if there are any F4's for a similar price if you're really willing to spend that much.
where are you from?! i picked up my f2 for $1300 with a clean title but non running due to clogged carbs, but i cleaned it up myself n got it running. i'm intereste in making a $2000 profit =]
yea seriously tho used bikes seem to hold their value in my area. ive seen 15 year old ninja 250s listed for over 2k. 2005 and down cbr, zx's, and kawis are listed for 5k plus with quite a bit of miles on them private sellers too.
i know these are priced high but i think they would sell for around 2800- 3k

Oh Whatever eh?
Do it because you want to and you will learn something, think of it as tuition fees. What's the most you could spend over what the bike would be worth? $500-$1000? We've all blown that kind of money on something or other. You could blow that on stupider things and not learn nearly as much. I say giver nails!

Build it! I think you learn aplenty and it's fun too. If you want a cheap project, do it! I picked up a frame and engine for 350, bought used fairings off of ebay - reworked them, bought carbs off ebay, wait I think I've bought everything off Ebay so far, and reworked it. Oh except for upper and lower one piece fairings. I bought those new, off of Ebay. I think I have about, 1500, give or take a little, into the bike. I'm almost done with it. I learned a great deal about the bike itself and had fun doing it.
