Default CBR - The rebirth!

OK...Part 2 of the story. From the review to the reality.

After the crash I needed to get a few parts, so I thought I might as well do things right. I bought the following to replace the broken bits/freshen up the bike:

f3 Fairing kit
f3 seat (which I recovered myself)
Anodized, adjustable race levers
Integrated LED mirrors
Clutch casing
f3 passenger foot pegs
Left side gear selector and foot peg
New chain & sprockets

Before the crash the bike looked like this:

Now :

Obviously it's not *quite* finished, but you can see the new fairings (haven't fitted the front inners yet or the rears), the new levers and mirrors.

I think it's gonna be nice. :-) It'll look better when washed too! :-)

The fairings are from an ebay seller - moto_777. I got them new, with custom paint job, tank cover and screen for £260 delivered. I've put up a review of the kit too - I'm pretty happy with what I got from the seller. :-) I'll get it finished this weekend. :-)

I know! The can and the rest of the bike were covered in ACF-50 before the winter hit hard. It was pretty much stripped down waiting for new parts when temps of -16 took hold. It'll be cleaned and polished as soon as I get the fairings finished!

I thought that ACF-50 and the associated dirty look was better than winter chewing everything.

The front brakes are standard other than the wavy discs I got from Wemoto. One of my original disks was warped, I bought some second hand ones from ebay that were miles more warped than my own, so I then bought the wavy's new. I'm gonna buy a rear wavy disk too.

The rear fairings were a pain in the **** - but I should point out that my subframe is still a little bent which contributed to the issues - however, I'd to cut away the fairings at some points near the bolts. Basically, expect a two or three hour fit job and you should get a decent result. But be patient.
Remember, this entire fairing set cost less than two official replacement inspection covers.

So far my mods are as follows...

F3 engine conversion
F3 fairing (98) conversion
F3 seat (re-covered by me)
F3 rear footpeg conversion
Probolt Fairing bolt kit.
Manual CCT
Shorty racing levers
Micron end can
F3 rear footpeg conversion

Word of advice - do NOT under any circumstances get the mirrors with built in indicators. They are rubbish. Utter, utter junk. I intend to post a review on these and some other bits I've bought soon. I've replaced these mirrors with OEM ones, they were so bad. :-)

Hope you like the pics. :-)

I have the LED indicator mirrors in carbon fiber. I have not tested them out yet though. I might do the 1K mod if I do not like them.
