Default the rebirth of a 92

whats up guys so i just picked up this dirt cheap 92 f2 frame with a clean title and am looking into rebuilding it from the ground up.

got some questions tho.

how hard is it gonna be able to find all the parts i need to rebuild this thing?
also if someone could post a compatibility list or a thread to one of other bike parts that fit
Any idea how much it will cost for a complete rebuild? a rough guestimate would be cool.

if im gonna go through with this id like to be able to have a couple months to be able to ride it this year still. if not ill porbably be able to get more money out of it for scrap then what i paid for it.

Expensive and time consuming.

Parts are readily available but not cheap.

Sell the frame and buy a complete bike, unless you're really into the F2's.

so not really worth it?

you think it would be more than 2500 to complete it? thats around where i was gonna set the budget at for this build.
i know it all depends on the deals i get on parts and whether or not i get used or new.

i really like the f2s but havnt really found any good ones for sale locally or ive missed out on them by waiting too long so i figured it would be cool to build my own.

It's fun to build bikes, $2500 will likely buy you all the used components you need, but there's going to be a lot of hassle getting it all together.

For $2500 you could buy a perfectly mint F2, if there was one to be bought.

If you have the money, I would buy a complete bike.

you wont find an f2 for 2500, its way to much, if your willing to put that into the bike their better be something pretty special about it. im not saying dont build it cause it would be alot of fun but its gunna be a lot of hassle. if you find a deal you might be able to find an f4/f4i or 2000ish other manufacturer equivalents (r6, zx6 etc)

i wouldnt be doing it because im looking for a cheap bike i look at it more as another project to work on give me something to do over time. keep me busy you know. plus i love the look of the early 90s sport bikes even cars for some reason and have wanted an f2 since i missed out on one a couple years back.
im assuming it could be built for a fair amount less than 2500 from the way you guys are talking which would be nice. i may pick up a newer cbr to ride in the mean time tho but i think i may go through with it. if i do ill keep a detailed build log somewhere on the forum.

I'm with you man! I'm buying a in-pieces 92 f2 this Friday, everything is there just needs a good clean/tune and assembled. Also gotta work some kinks outta it, tank dents, needs paint, carbs cleaned, etc etc. Gonna be a project, but I'm going to keep a very detailed thread about what I do everyday. It has F3 plastics and I'm gonna paint it pure white with CF decals and accents (levers, pegs, etc). I'm stoked! And I don't use that word very often.

I agree... that would be a lot of fun. Proabably won't be "worth it" but should cost less than $2500.
