Rear suspension settings

Rear suspension settings
Hey guys and girls,
I've had a quick look through and can't see this has been asked before but if it has I apologize...
I have been told that this hole in my rear hugger is to access some kind of rear suspension settings, she's a 92 FN, I've been on my hands and knees with a little flash light trying to find a bolt of some description and can't see anything. Have I been given false information or am I missing something?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Cheers.
Matt

The hole goes through to the rebound screw near the bottom of the shock. Use a flat blade screw driver to adjust.
And I've seen people install the shock rotated 180 degrees so the screw faces the left side of the bike.
Makes it hard to adjust if you still have the stock hugger on.

My manuals don't specifically list a factory setting.
One manual implies '1 turn out' in the installation section.
On a 30 year old shock, it's all a guess anyway.
Set it somewhere and then adjust to how you like it.
I'd start at 2 turns out.
If you want to upgrade, a 93-94 F2 remote reservoir shock will bolt in.
Those can also be rebuilt, or they 'could', not sure anyone is still doing them.
