Hell, I learned to ride on my 1000rr. You just have to stay within your limitations. To many people think they are "superperson" (PC, huh?) on a bike because of the rush. Just be more careful.
As for the bike, I say streetfighter all the way! When you are ready for something different you will be able to make it a stunt bike or sell it to a (wannabe) stunter.
