hi guys, i just bought this bike from a friend last week and i was aware it had a few quirks. one of them being that the battery will randomly die. ive ridin the bike everyday since i bought it and didnt have a problem. i go to start it today and the battery was almost completely dead. (no it didnt start, after two cranks is was drained) after talking with my friend about it he told me that he replaced the battery a couple months ago and also replaced the voltage regulator. there is an aftermarket voltage gauge hooked up and the gauge likes to jump around while the bikes running and it also seems 'twitch' when the bikes off. i dont know much about bikes because ive never owned a streetbike before. i do know it has a stator to charge the battery but i dont know how to tell if its charging the battery properly or if they even go bad? any helps appreciated, i love ridin the bike.

 

Try cleaning all the terminals on the starter relay/solenoid, you'll have to disconnect all the cables to do it and the multi plug too, clean off all the green mould that has formed in there and lub' with petrolium jelly. The main fuse is in there too so give that a clean up as well

 

will do man, i took the battery to the shop today and trickle charged it for a while, put it in and the bike seemed to fire up so much easier, maybe it was in my head. anyways were suppose to get some rain later in the week here so ill pull it inside (my apartment haha, yes im single :/ ) and ill go thru the wiring and clean it.
