noisy clutch please help

Default noisy clutch please help

hi there i have a cbr 600 fm 1991 started today and she has a burring noise comming from the clutch (sounds like a dry bearing) when i pull the clutch lever it stops and she has started to cut out when slowing down she gos up the gears no bother but when slowing down and shift into 1st she cuts out i have no idea whats going on as dont know alot about bike mechanics i am a car mechanic so if anyone can point me in the right direction i will see what i can do (some thing i thought of was maybe the springs in the clutch being worng or compressed but i dont know) any help please

there is a rumble that you will hear when the clutch isn't pulled in...its normal...we have noisy clutch baskets...as far as the cutting out though...can you give a better explanation?

if its really loud,it could bethe tabs on the clutch plates grooving, creating more clearance for them to bang into the clutch basket

cheers i think i have sorted the noise there was a bit of play in the rear needle bearing so changed that and the front roller bearing much better now still not sure about her cutting out she drives fine but when coming to a stop change into 1st gear and hold the cluch in she cuts out restarts first time and rides away fine untill the next time i have to slow to a stop then the same again change into 1st and hold the clutch in and she just switches off starting to do my head in now

What is your idle speed? Perhaps it's a bit low? [8D]

idle speed is 1000rpm she will sit and tick over no bother
