Need urgent help. Carb mishaps
Ok, so I need your guys help. I'm posting on the F2 section because the Honda Rebel Forum seems to be slow at responding and I need answers fast (Rebel is my daily commuter). My Honda Rebel is basically exactly the same as the F2, except it has only 2 cylinders. This is a general question which applies to all carb'd bikes which nobody on that forum seems to have an answer for. My left exhaust is significantly weaker than the right exhaust. That's why the bike stumbles at a certain RPM range. Now I believe my carbs are out of sync so I tried adjusting the air/fuel mixture but that did nothing. No matter how rich or lean I make the mixture, the exhaust is still VERY weak on the left side in comparison to the right. Is my left exhaust clogged? It's a 1986 bike and it's full of rust.
Carb's are clean and I adjusted the valves to factory specs. I've been winging it by riding the bike with the choke lever halfway down when I'm cruising at 30mph because it stumbles and pops. On the freeway, or when I open the throttle all the way, the stumbling disappears (Too lean?). Vacuum lines are all where they are supposed to be. I removed the clogged charcoal canister and it helped the problem drastically, yet the problem still persists. Help meeeeeee somebody.

I assume by "weaker", you mean that one of the mufflers seems to be quieter, or seems to have less pressure coming out?
Does one header appear to be running considerably hotter than the other one?
If all else is equal, in each cylinder, with regards to good spark from good plugs, fueling, and compression, then it could be that the mufflers need to be re-packed, with one of them much worse than the other, who knows?
Say, you don't happen to have a ticked-off ex-girlfriend, who might have shoved some fruit up in one of your exhaust pipes, do ya?
