Default carb question.

Through lack of use over winter the carbs on my F2 are all gunged up. I've been told they need to be stripped and cleaned out and that it's time consuming. I was also thinking about more power so would the carbs off an F3 fit I'm told they're bigger? Thanks.

Stick with your F2 carbs - if they're jetted appropriately, you can coax more power out of the bike... just a smidge.

If/when you clean the carbs, you might consider a jet kit from Dynojet, or Factory Pro (my personal choice.)

If you've got a "hi-flow" air filter, usually the re-cleanable type (K&N, UNI, BMC), and/or race headers or an aftermarket slip-on exhaust, keep in mind that the largest main jets in a stage 1 kit (usually 138 - stock is 135), might not be big enough, but you can get jets individually in other sizes, for around $3 - $5 each (USD).

Search the forum on carb cleaning, and/or re-jetting, and I'm sure you'll find loads of info and opinions.

Good luck!

Cool

If you know what you are doing you can rebuild them, however to save you some trouble, I have a set of carbs that have been re-jetted 9DYNO JET)already and ready to go. if you are interested let me know. PM me and we can work it out. Summer draws near and you want to ride don't you. I also have some re- built forks with gold valve emulators and 1.0 springs ( ALL RACE TECH PARTS)your bike will handle like your on rails. I worked in a shop and did all the work there. Got me a 600rr so I am selling all the parts that I have left from the F2,I am going to miss her, she has served me well.

let me know,
P.S. will give you the kit that came with the jets, you will need it for future use, also the have been synched
