Default Need some advice

I have a 94 f2 that I am rebuilding. I finally got the bike together and of course wanted to start it but my battery is shot so I just put my dads battery in that goes to his 48 panhead. The bike would turnover and not start until the battery went weak and died. Could this be because it wasnt the right battery or is this a problem caused by something else. Please help??????????

Try using the correct battery before you get too excited.

Here's the part number: YTX9 - BS

Start with the basics: Fuel lines, Vacuum line to petcock, Is fuel getting to the carbs, do you have spark, do you have compression, is the timing out, any safety kill switches triggered (kill, clutch, kickstand), is the carb set up properly etc.

12V is 12V. If you have a car and jumper cables, hook the cables up but leave the car turned off. Get to cranking. It should take a few cranks before the carbs fill with fuel/the bike starts up. If the bike doesn't crank after a while, then it's time to start trouble shooting.
