Default In Need of Possible Solution

So here's my issue. (93 cbr 600f2)

Was riding home from work yesterday stopped off at the bank shut the bike down (to this point nothing out of ordinary bike running fine and warmed up). Came out of bank hopped onto bike went to start and it wouldnt fire, cranked until there wasnt much of the battery left to go. Ended up bump starting it in which it died at idle after a few seconds. bumped it again left choke on this time (revving at 4500rpm and drove it half way home like this until i dared to turn the choke off. At this point bike ran normally and pretended like nothing happened. go home shut it off, started back up ok. let it sit for 5 minutes and it wouldnt start again. Left it alone came back a few hours later and started right up with no hesitation. Any ideas as to what may be causing me this new found headache, i dont need to be coming across a problem of my bike not starting after its been warmed up sitting there for a few minutes.

I appreciate any input and thanks for reading.

This your first carbed bike ??? .... lol sounds like the normal finicky-ness of a carbed bike ... if it's really bothering you the best thing I could suggest (not a carb expert at all by far here, i've only owned one ... a '99 CBR600F4 for about a year) is just to clean your carbs and jets to try and help easing the starting a lil ...

Could be a bad R/R (regulator/Rectifier), these bikes are known to have reg/rec issues. This is easy to diagnose with a multimeter and the walkthrough (can be found here, try searching for R/R or Regulator/Rectifier). R/R is also a cheap fix, get a used gsxr one (of the right year, can also find that info in these forums with the search) off fleabay for about $60.

Yeah definitely sounds like an R/R issue.

Standard R/R checking:

-Get the bike running.
-Remove rear seat and battery access panel so you can get to the battery.
-Hook a voltage meter up to the battery.
-At idle you should read 12.8v or so. If you're reading low, please note.
-At 3k you should read 13.5v or so. if you're reading low, please note.
-At 5k you hsould read 14v, and from there up it should stay a steady 14v. If you're off, please note.
-Shut off bike. You should get 12.8v or so. Please note.

Return with findings. If they're off there is a good chance it's your R/R. They tend to half give it in a sneaky sneaky way you can't quite understand. Bump starting works for short distances but will sputter and die.
