I have nothing but good things to say about my F2. I've owned it for almost 4 years now. bought it with 26K miles on it. up to 31 now. I've had the R/R go on me twice, but aside from that, nothing mechanical has happened to it. I baby mine though I suppose (NO rainy day rides, oil change after ever season of roughly 1500-2000 miles, battery every 2 years on a maintainer, etc).

It's been a great first bike for me to own. Obviously we all have our "dream bike" we'd like to own, but my F2 would still be in the garage next to that dream bike!

As far as the R/R, if it ever goes out, DON'T opt for the cheap eBay ones for ~$50. spend the little extra dough and get a decent regulator. It may cost a little up front, but it's better than having to go back in a year or two and replace it all over again! I went the cheap route the first time around. I learned from that mistake when I was 20 miles from home with little to no phone reception.
