Maintanence help needed
Hey all
From long island, and have a F2 1991. I just ordered the official service manual via ioffer in a PDF format for about 5 bux... The bike has about 13000 on it, i put about 300 on it since i got it. When do i have to lube the chain? I have only washed it once. Will that information be in the manual, and should i bother getting the clymer or haynes manual also? what other routine things do i need to look into so i can have a healthy baby?..... I love this bike its mad fun, and i feel very safe. any suggestions will do even a link to another thread that will point me to the right direction... I am going to post pics as soon as i have time....
thanks again.

I lube my chain every ~200-300km. Trust me, it pays off, the chain lasts a lot longer.
But do it after the bike is riden and the chain is warm
Change the oil and filter. Every time you buy a new bike that should be the first thing you do!
Clean the airfilter too.

I usually lube the chain by putting the bike on a rear stand ( or centerstand if your F2 has one..if not you can get one from Honda) and then take a piece of cardboard and place it behind the chain, blocking the wheel, and spray the chain on the inside allowing centrifugal force to spread the lube from the inside out..
The spot I put the cardboard is behind the left front footpeg where the swingarm is exposed...

dude, I've seen many people post saying they bought the service manual in pdf. I think you're being robbed because whoever is selling it probably downloaded it for free off of a p2p network which is where you should have looked first. % bucks is nothing but more people fall for this the richer the scammer is gonna be. Wish i thought of it first ;D

U guys wanna laugh..... the minute i open the manual... I saw "for routing maintanence please refer to common service manual" you don even need P2P all i did was type "Honda CBR F2 Common Service Manual" and got the dam thing..... Anyway i still need the cbr brand of chain lube you guys use.... Some guy sent me to hondadirectlineusa and it was good and all but it has no cbr stuff also, Oil filter, and oil. How many quarts you guys use.... THanks so much... sorry to make u think.
