On the wheel color, the team never ran with red wheels - they were orange from the get-go, when Mick Doohan won the championship on the Repsol NSR500, way back in 1995.
So they were always orange, with one exception, that being running black wheels in the 2002 season.

As I mentioned before, I definitely will be powder-coating the rims orange, and the only reason it's not done already, is the fact that I got so lucky with the existing red rims, as the '92 Honda "Fighting Red" (current wheel color), is so close to the Honda "Victory Red" that is used in the Repsol shceme... even looking really closely, they are very similar - definitely close enough that I can easily get away with it.
