Default K&N filter issues?

Hey guys,

Wondering if anyone has had any issues with the higher flow of air on the K&N filters for our bikes. I put one on after i did the fork seals and when i started it up it ran great. Was kinda sluggish around 5-6grand on the tach though. (although it probably wasn't warmed up completely yet) I had heard that there might be some issues with the fuel mixture being too lean after the increase in airflow. Any truth to any of this???

I use a K&N and my carbs are stock and I don't have any issues. Theoretically increased airflow does cause a leaner mix...butwhether it isenough to make a differece probably varies from bike to bike.

when i still had my 600 engine in i went to a K&N and never had a problem or noticed a difference.

call K&N and ask them about it they might be able to reassure you there is not a problem or you may find out something that can help others??

It will change your mixture to somewhat of a leaner burn. Without jetting the K&N hurts you more than helps you.
