Help with a center exhaust
Hi everyone!
I've been googling around, but I still haven't found any information on building a new pipe line to get the exhaust coming out from the rear above the tire (as it is stock on the newer models).
Has anyone done this or have any example?
I have a pretty small Laser K2 slip-on, which I think would fit nicely there, but I'm worried about the space that will be left between the hugger and upper rear parts, because the pipeline would have to go from the side to the center.
Check out some pics on my F2 on: http://www.tag-team.org/hondacbr/kuv...2007/index.htm(sorry, the site is in Finnish).
I'm rebuilding the bike right now (it's winter here) with a new paint job, xenons, new lights, modified gauges, etc. etc...

Primarily looks for now. At least a longer exhaust pipe can't be more efficient than a shorter one.
The previous owner has changed the nozzles and I changed the slip-on, mut otherwise the engine is stock and the power is enough for me...

I have only seen one f2 that has an underseat using the stock swingarm...and I cant tell where it comes from...but it most likely runs through a bunch of twists to get there........if you search for the member rsp919 on here he has a dual underseat....but he also has a custom singlesided swingarm...as well as everything else on his bike being custom. If I where you I wouldnt bother with it unless your going for a showbike and redoing everything
Like I said, you'd have to either ghetto-rig it, make a major change in the bike's design.
The way I see it, a bike either has one, or doesn't. It's not something you can add as an afterthought.
Plus, I think having the side muffler lowers your COG anyway... and if you're worried about ground clearance, get a triangle exhaust.

That's not entirely true. Hotbodies makes undertail exhaust conversions for bikes that have a side exhaust... like the 954.
It is possible, but you have to bend the pipe around the swingarm (the hotbodies kits do the same thing). Here is the only F2 I've seen... other than rsp's nutzo bike

Here are some fitting pictures I took, a muzzy donor exhaust off an old F1

I'm 140lbs. It took about 350lbs to almost make the shock compress fully to the point where it touched the exhaust... so I guess your shock settings and weight matter... but point of the matter is it can hit! (what if a passenger is riding on the rear?!) (I am running an ohlins btw)
It never would touch unless I decided to jump my bike or something... but it still is possible, just something to keep in mind. Since this a scrapper exhaust I'll probably have a midpipe made up anyways so I can place it here. It looks pretty damn good under the seat imo. I'll take some more pictures if I ever go through with it. I repaired the exhaust about 5 months ago and have put the project on hold.

Yes, well I'm aware that it would take some major mods to fit (also because I have the hugger installed) and I've also been measuring the 'worst' possible case as what comes to a fully compressed shock.
Maybe it would be necessary to make some sort of stopper with a rubber cover that would stop the 'incompress' just before the muffler will hit something
Mobius9, thank you very much for these pics. Let us know if/when your project will make progress...
